I love art. I love making art, collecting art, and selling art. I love being a bridge for artists who are interested in entering this fickle art ecosystem and finding their way in the art world. I love curating shows where artists who have never exhibited are featured next to established artists. I love guiding interested buyers in selecting works for their own collection or home. My collection reflects my own sensibilities, aesthetic, convictions, and hope. When I first began collecting, I had no idea it would grow to become a "regular thing." The collection contains a variety of genres - from portraits, to landscapes, to abstraction, and more. I primarily collect two-dimensional work, though some three-dimensional work has literally woven its way into the collection.
The collection now holds over fifty works of art, primarily art made by Detroit-area artists. The collection is on view on a rotating basis at Live Coal Gallery - 80 Clairmount Street, Detroit, MI 48202. The work can be viewed by appointment. If there is a specific work in the collection you are interested in viewing, please give us at least one week's notice.
We are currently creating a catalogue of the collection that will be made public. Works in the collection that are available for sale will be noted in the catalogue. Please come back in the near future to download the catalogue.
Here is a partial list of artists in the collection (not in any particular order):
